Support Sunnybrook In Memory of Dr. Sherif Hanna

 

The Sunnybrook community is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Sherif Hanna, former Head of the Surgical Oncology Program at Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre. Dr. Hanna passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook on Thursday, August 25th, a place he called his second home for over 30 years.

Dr. Hanna was a wonderful mentor, dear colleague and friend, and cherished physician who devoted his career to providing compassionate care for patients with hepatobiliary cancer. His legendary smile and enthusiastic, positive energy brought out the very best in all who were fortunate to interact with him.
 
Dr. Hanna will be remembered not only for his significant contributions to the field of surgical oncology but for the unwavering empathy and compassion he showed each and every one of his patients, inspiring his colleagues and students to emulate the same level of care.
 
Dr. Hanna and his family are grateful for the care he received at Sunnybrook and have asked that donations be made in lieu of flowers to support Leukemia research and care within the Odette Cancer Program.
