Advancing the Legacy of Dr. Todd Mainprize
The Sunnybrook community is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Todd Mainprize, our division head of neurosurgery. Dr. Mainprize was a compassionate physician, exceptional surgeon, talented educator, valued colleague, mentor and friend, devoted husband and father. He is greatly missed by many.
Dr. Mainprize was also an accomplished and visionary researcher. His work to develop new treatments in neuro-oncology, including leading a team that employed focused ultrasound to breach the blood-brain barrier in patients with debilitating brain tumours, has changed medicine forever.
To continue Dr. Mainprize’s legacy of excellence and innovation in neurosurgery, we are gratefully accepting donations to establish the Todd Mainprize Chair in Neurosurgery at Sunnybrook and the University of Toronto. This funding will advance the frontiers of medicine by providing resources to pursue ground-breaking research and create important educational opportunities such as fellowships, lectureships and studentships.
In collaboration with Dr. Mainprize's family, we will establish the Todd Mainprize Chair in Neurosurgery to honour, remember and celebrate the life of a brilliant physician and researcher by advancing what was most important to him - transforming neurosurgical practice and discovering the treatments of tomorrow to benefit patients.
Our goal is to raise $3M to establish the Todd Mainprize Chair in Neurosurgery. We thank you for your generous support.
