Eighteen Months Eighteen Months is a book about the life of two people Sharon and Charlie, who found and knew each other for a mere eighteen months. Together they travel on a daunting journey. It is a story of humour, compassion, fear, support, love, anger and utter frustration, culminating in death and many unanswered questions.

On Saturday, May 8, 2010, The First Annual Mother’s Day 5K Walk/Run for Brain Cancer will take place. This event will be held in memory of Ivana Pozzebon, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend and caregiver. Ivana devoted much of her life to helping others, so it is fitting that we remember her by trying to help others in their battle with brain cancer. With your help and support, The Walk/Run for Brain Cancer can be successful for years to come and we can give hope to all who are struggling to find hope in their tough battle ahead.

Donate Now >> St. Jacobs Massage Therapy Fundraiser, 2009 Like diabetes, cancer and heart disease, mental illness is a public health concern. Nearly 1 in 3 people in Canada will suffer from a mental illness in their lifetimes. But, despite its widespread reach and toll, mental illness faces a persistent lack of recognition and funding for services and research that will discover new treatments and identify a cure. Sunnybrook’s Brain Sciences clinician-scientists are studying mood and anxiety disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), from four key perspectives: phenomenological, biological, psychopharmacological and cognitive-behavioural. Sunnybrook’s Brain Sciences Program’s focus on people across the lifespan is unique, as we work to improve the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders for children, teenagers, adults and those of advanced age through population health initiatives, clinical trials and pharmacogenetics. Sunnybrook’s approach to research is also pioneering new interventions and imaging analysis techniques to optimize recovery and rehabilitation. Research ranges from fundamental science to clinical trials and innovative health service delivery systems. We can only solve this health crisis together by eliminating stigma and making research a priority. Together we can break down the barriers to treatment and recovery. St. Jacobs Massage Therapy has chosen to specifically support the Mood & Anxiety Disorders Program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Donate Now >>
