Recognizing Your Champions of Care  After a patient is discharged from Sunnybrook, its not unusual for the physicians, nurses and others on their care team to receive a card in the mail or floral arrangement, with thanks. The importance of recognizing those who have made a tremendous difference in someone’s Sunnybrook experience inspired Sunnybrook Foundation to establish Champions of Care, the first hospital-based employee recognition program of this kind in Toronto.

Giving In Numbers  No matter where you are at Sunnybrook, you can always recognize a member of the Sunnybrook Volunteer Association (SVA) by their cobalt blue jacket or vest. Every year, more than 700 volunteers, ranging from high school students to retirees, spend more than 117,000 volunteer hours providing 60 services to our patients, residents and visitors.
