Taiwan Entrepreneurs Society Taipei Toronto (TESTT) Annual Gala Saturday, 10 Jan, 2009 Celebrating the 16th Anniversary of TESTT and 2009 Chinese New Year, this gala takes place on Saturday, January 10th, 2009, at Hilton Suites Donald Cousens Conference Centre, Markham. Gala will support four causes, one of them being Sunnybrook's Schulich Heart Centre with a fundraising goal $10K.
Since its establishment in June 1993, members of TESTT have worked very hard to live up to the spirit of their motto, which advocates business opportunities between Canada and Taiwan through friendship, networking and mutual benefits.
Toronto Paragon Lions Club Charity Gala Sunday, 18 Jan, 2009 The Toronto Paragon Lions Club was founded in 2006 by a group of dedicated business women in Toronto. Their youth chapter, Leos Club, was established in 2007. Both groups work together, along with passionate volunteers, to organize a yearly charity fundraising gala to benefit a variety of community service providers. The 4th Annual Toronto Paragon Lions Club Charity Gala will support three causes: Sunnybrook's Schulich Heart Centre, The Centre for Information & Community Services (CICS), and Youth Assisting Youth (YAY). Last year's gala raised over $30K. Will a goal of more than $30K this year, each cause will receive at least $10K each. The Gala takes place on Sunday, January 18th, 2009, at the Sheraton Hotel, Richmond Hill.
6th Annual Vascular Clinic Golf Tournament Wednesday, 27 Aug 2008 Sunnybrook Foundation would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the dedication and commitment to the 6th Annual Vascular Clinic Golf Tournament. On August 27th 2008, the Vascular Clinic Golf Tournament, held at the prestigious Copper Creek Golf Club, managed to raise $520,000 in support of the Vascular Clinic at the Schulich Heart Centre.
This brings the total cumulative giving of the Vascular Clinic Golf Classic to $1.2 million allowing Sunnybrook to provide the highest level of patient care at the Vascular Clinic. Stay tuned for information on the upcoming 2009 Vascular Golf Clinic.
Bay Street Fore a Cause Thursday, September 18, 2008 The 2008 Annual Bay Street Fore a Cause Golf Tournament was held this year on September 18, 2008. 120 golfers came together for a beautiful day of golf at the exclusive Weston Golf and Country Club. The efforts of this generous committee resulted in a gift to Sunnybrook Foundation of $100,000 in support of the Women and Babies Program.
As a result of their efforts, the Bay Street Fore a Cause committee will allow the Women and Babies program to continue their long tradition of excellence in patient care, research and clinical practice.
2008 Women's Health Golf Classic Monday, May 25, 2008
Sunnybrook Foundation would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the 2008 Women’s Health Golf Classic. This year, the Women’s Health Golf Classic, held at the prestigious Angus Glen golf course on Monday May 25, 2008, raised over $150,000 in support of the Breast Cancer Program at Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre. The proceeds from the tournament will be used to purchase state-of-the-art chemotherapy beds and chairs to ensure the comfort of patients throughout their treatment at the Odette Cancer Centre.
To date the Women’s Golf Classic has raised more than $600,000 towards Women’s Health programs at Sunnybrook. Look out for dates and announcements for the 2009 Women’s Health Golf Classic.
MUSE 08: CARNIVALE!! Friday, March 28, 2008
The New Leaders will host its 9th annual silent art auction on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the breathtaking Dominion Club at One King West. Muse 08: Carnivale! promises an evening of high culture and energy as hundreds of artists and art-seekers meet in a pageant of the visual arts. Our last art auction, which transformed the swish club Lot 332 into an avant-garde industrial atelier, attracted a capacity crowd and raised over $30,000 for the new Emergency and Trauma Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. This year's event hopes to surpass this milestone in support of Sunnybrook's world-class cardiovascular research and care. Online sales for MUSE will be closed at 12:00 midnight on Thursday, March 27th. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
A Valentine's Evening in Central Park Saturday, February 16th, 2008
6:30pm The Sunnybrook Foundation is preparing to host its 4th Annual Valentine's Gala, on Saturday February 16, 2008 at Le Parc (Markham). The gala was started in 2004 in order to bring all supporters of The Foundation together for a fun filled evening and complement our other fund raising events; the Foundation’s annual golf tournament and hockey game. Each year the gala committee selects a theme for the evening as well as several acts of live entertainment for the guests. This year’s theme is “A Valentine’s Evening in Central Park” with the Erroll Fisher Band and September providing the evening’s entertainment. In the previous 3 years the gala has raised close to $35,000. At this year’s gala the Foundation will proudly unveil our 5 year - $25,000 commitment to the Sunnybrook Emergency Ward Redevelopment Project, where the money donated will be utilized to furbish a new trauma room.

Proceeds from this event will be shared equally between the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario and the Sunnybrook Dept of Psychiatry ‘s Adolescent Suicide Prevention Guidelines. An incredible line up … Canadian Reggae Legend BERNIE PITTERS, the DAVID HOULDEN PROJECT, TECTONICS (Cam Guest), and CHIEF YINKA FARINDE will perform music to ROCK DEPRESSION from its roots. Headlining will be the Toronto girl punk sensation… FIDGET. MC for the evening will be Andrew Cooper, also known as Bliss.
Ruowen Wang donates sales from books to support Women & Babies Ruowen Wang is an accomplished children’s author and teacher and over the past two years she has published five books dedicated to reinforcing literacy, and social and cultural understanding amongst children. 40 per cent of the sales from her books will be donated to Sunnybrook's Women & Babies Program. Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association’s Annual Magic Show Since 1985, magic tricks and illusions have entertained all those who have attended the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association’s (TPFFA) holiday benefit magic show. Apart from wowing audiences young and young at heart, the event raises funds for charities within its community. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Sunnybrook’s Ross Tilley Burn Centre’s (RTBC) skin bank. The magic show takes place on Wednesday, December 12th, 2007 at the Lawrence Park Collegiate.
Road 2 Recovery Tammy Zaccolo is a young cancer survivor who is on the road to recovery. Her annual event, Road 2 Recovery, raises awareness and funds for cancer research and has been a priority of Tammy's ever since her diagnosis with Hodgkin's Disease (lymphoma) in November 1999, at age 25.
Abbot on the Hill Remembrance Day Fundraiser In honour of Remembrance Day, Abbot on the Hill launched Spitfire Ale for the first time in Ontario, on Remembrance Day weekend. Spitfire Ale is one of Britain’s best selling Ales. Shepard Neame the Brewer and Bruce Ashley Distributors will be donating all product to the Abbot who will in turn be donating the entire proceeds to the Veteran’s Comfort Fund.
Hadassah WIZO Bazaar The Hadassah WIZO Bazaar, the famous Toronto one day shopping extravaganza, where as many as 10,000 shoppers of all ages and cultures come together to hunt for bargains, enjoy food and participate in a unique city-wide event. Proceeds from this year’s Bazaar will support the Women & Babies program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
